HOPE FOR ANIMALS

You may have noticed the plight of the dogs and cats on the streets and it may have touched your heart and filled it with compassion…???!!!

 A small group of animal-friends called SAVE OUR FRIENDS ASSOCIATION (SOFA) is working hard to reduce the number of such suffering animals at least in Kandy, the “hill-capital” of Sri Lanka: we have so far sterilized and vaccinated 10500 dogs and 1000 cats, treated all those, which were sick or had skin-ailments, rescued 1500 puppies and kittens and gave them for adoption, saved hundreds of accident-victims and are giving shelter to 450 strays permanently.

Our Vision.....

                 A healthy stabilised rabies-free dog/cat-population in Kandy

All these animals were dumped as they were puppies in Gohagoda; now they are grownups and have no place to go as rehoming is a very difficult task	Mother and her puppies dumped!	Puppies were dumped in the recent 3 months; only 6 found a home; many died as we do not have the facilities to keep them separated! These few are the only ones which survived.
